Today I wanted to continue with identifying repeated patterns and texture on architecture.
This time I remained on campus to take pictures of older buildings.
On older architecture, repeated shapes and patterns are way more apparent.
As this can range to the way bricks are laid, the type of windows they used, the monotone colour scheme, shape of the roof etc.
Outlined in yellow is what would be considered for repeating textures, such as roof tiling and the brick work.
However the brick work is in an arch fashion, so the models may need to be incorporated into the model for texturing, rather than texturing around the arch. Additionally, the corresponding colours represent the repeated geometry, this includes the red arches, which have the same windows. Same with the blue ones, which have the same windows.
I additionally marked the chimneys as repeated geometry, you may not be able to see one chimney, but because you may not see it up close due to the slope of the roof, it would be useful to repeat this model as for the most part, remains partially concealed due to the way the building is shaped.
