Chest tutorial (Week 1 self directed)

Self directed week 1 (chest tutorial)

During today's self directed task, I followed along with Scott's chest tutorial via blackboard. With varying degrees of success, I achieved a look, not too dissimilar to the one shown in the tutorial.
I decided to add a bit of variation to my model, by using the symmetry tool, I created a different type of handle, I wanted it to look like a 'rope texture' that you commonly see on WW2 ammunition boxes.
I struggled mainly with understanding the terminology used, such as 'target weld' - this is because other 3D software I am used to has a better looking GUI than 3DS max, so I sometimes find it difficult to locate certain tools.
However, for future reference, I shall make sure to use alternative methods (if applicable) such as duplicating a selected object to re-arrange the position, rather than using symmetry, because sometimes the mirror option didn't work as the shape wasn't 100% straight.
Next week, I would like to try and experiment with UV unwrapping and looking at different chest references, as I would like to do a different themed chest, I was thinking sci-fi.
